In the name of Jesus Christ. Open doors Sept. 27, 2012. "We are with you and we are praying" 1 Cor. 12:26. Jer. 9:24b

– Christian leaders have set Oct. 1-3 for urgent, united prayer for Egypt and selection of the next Coptic Orthodox Church Pope.

A nationwide call for the Egyptian church to unite in fasting and prayers was announced in Egypt on Sept. 22.

The Orthodox, Catholic and evangelical church leadership are calling all Christians of Egypt to fast and pray next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Christians are urged to gather in churches across the country to pray to for two specific requests:

•    For God to save and protect Egypt from every evil and cause all falseness to be unveiled.

•    For God to select and anoint the next Orthodox Church Pope, who will be chosen soon to lead the Coptic Church in unity and with a clear vision.

The ethnic cleansing of Christians in the Sinai is being ignored not only by the Egyptian authorities, but also by the mainstream media and human rights groups in the West.--- Ehab Lewis, one of the Christians who fled Rafah, said that not a single Christian has remained in the town. Lewis, a former school teacher, said: "I was in Rafah with my family and we left out of fear for our lives. They threatened to torch my house. They attacked my neighbor's shop and destroyed everything inside. He too was forced to run away."
