Dear brothers and sisters:

Peace in the Lord! On this past Sunday, we held the thirty-sixth outdoor worship service of this year. It rained in the morning, but it did not stop believers from going outdoor to worship God. As far as we know, including the sister taken to be detained at a hotel on Friday, at least seventeen believers were taken away from locations near the platform or from other places. They were then sent to four different local police stations. Four believers were released by noon, and twelve believers were released one after another on Sunday afternoon. However, an older sister was not released until 7:00am on Monday after twenty-four hours detainment at Olympic Village police station.

May God remember this older sister and all the other believers who join the outdoor service; they offer themselves as a living sacrifice to God. May God comfort and sustain those believers who are forced to move or who got hurt in police stations for joining the outdoor service. May God help us, so that we won’t become weak under such pressure, nor face it with anger from flesh, but become strong with the strength from the LORD. Just as God encourages us: “Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.” (Hebrews 10:35) We also pray that God will provide a place for them to live. We ask the LORD to pour out the Holy Spirit upon His church and to revive us, so that we would gain strength from his grace through prayer in unity, and continue to march forward.

May peace and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the mercy and love of Father God, and the console and guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, be with each brother and sister of Shouwang Church and all the churches who remember Shouwang Church in prayers, from this time on and forevermore! Amen.
