Jes. 61:1-3 Ett nådens år från Herren. Jesus läser ur profeten Jesajas bokrulle (Luk. 4:16-19). Jesus är Herre! Jesus is Lord!

"Herrens, HERRENS Ande är över mig, 

ty HERREN har smort mig

till att predika glädjens budskap 

för de ödmjuka. 

Han har sänt mig att förbinda dem som har

ett förkrossat hjärta,

att ropa ut frihet för de fångna

och befrielse för de bundna,

till att predika ett nådens år från HERREN

och en hämnden dag från vår Gud,

för att trösta alla sörjande,

för att låta de sörjande i Sion

få huvudprydnad i stället för aska. 

glädjens olja i stället för sorg,

lovprisningens klädnad i stället 

för en modfälld ande.

Och de ska kallas 

"rättfärdighetens terebinter".

till hans förhärligande."

"Så kom Jesus till Nasaret, där han hade vuxit upp. På sabbaten gick han till synagogan som han brukade. Han reste sig för att läsa ur Skriften, och man räckte honom profeten Jesajas bokrulle. När han öppnade den, fann han det ställe där det står skrivet: 

Herrens Ande är över mig,

ty han har smort mig

till att predika glädjens budskap 

för de fattiga.

Han har sänt mig för att ropa ut

frihet för de fångna

och syn för de blinda

för att ge de betryckta frihet

och predika ett nådens år från Herren."

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,

    because the Lord has anointed me

to bring good news to the poor;

    he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives,

    and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,

    and the day of vengeance of our God;

    to comfort all who mourn;

to grant to those who mourn in Zion—

    to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,

the oil of gladness instead of mourning,

    the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;

that they may be called oaks of righteousness,

    the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified."

"And Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read.  And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,

    because he has anointed me

    to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives

    and recovering of sight to the blind,

    to set at liberty those who are oppressed,

to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
