Lukashenka cowardly detained Alena Kavalenka

Alena Kavalenka detained 18.5.2012 when she was supporting her husband. Alena Kavalenka is a hero and mother of two small children. Yury Belenki, CCP/BPF to the court: “I said them loudly they will stand God's trial. They will be tried for this. The judges and the prosecutor left the courtroom with their heads down.”  (prominent opposition leader Siarhei Kavalenka still imprisoned and on hunger strike again/Alena has no information about his health on May, 19th). It happened at 5:40 a.m. near the Vitebsk region court.
Alena Kavalena, activist of European Belarus civil campaign Alena Semenchukova and Syarhei's cousin drew “Freedom to Syarhei Kavalenka” on the asphalt.
In this way they wanted to show their solidarity with the inmate, who went on his second hunger strike.
At 9:30 a.m. on May 18, the Vitebsk region court hears an appeal against the decision of the Pershamaiski district court that sentenced the activist to 2-year imprisonment.
“We were detained by police, who were guarding the building from the early morning. They seized Alena Kavalenka's camera and took us to the Kastrychnitski district police department,” activist Alena Semnchukova told Radio Svaboda. She stopped answering telephone 15 minutes later.
Human rights activist Pavel Levinau thinks policemen near the court building are used as a crowd of extras to fill the courtroom and tell the rest people there are no places for them. This practice is widely used in Vitebsk and could be seen during the first trial over Syarhei Kavalenka in the Pershamaiski district court.

Syarhei Kavalennka's father told a prosecutor during a break that Syarhei's weight was 45 kg. He showed a photo and said, “Look, his arms are as thin as matches. Do you have conscience?” The prosecutor and the rest people in the courtroom kept silence. --- Yury Belenki, activist of the CCP/BPF party said to the court: “I said them loudly they will stand God's trial. Alyaksandr Atroshchankau, a coordinator of European Belarus civil campaign and former political prisoner, comments on a decision to hold the ice hockey world championship in Minsk.
“I'd like to think a decision to hold the ice hockey world championship in Minsk was a great mistake. Unfortunately, it isn't a mistake, but a conscious decision which is most likely to lead to intensifying repression against democratic activists and crackdown on independent media ahead of the championship. I do not think there's misunderstanding in this case. Influential politicians, journalists, sportsmen presented clear explanations and arguments to hockey officials. Some corruption schemes may be the point here. A decision to hold the 2014 IIHF World Championship in Minsk is another evidence of a decomposing effect of the Belarusian dictatorship on certain politicians, officials and even international organizations,” Alyaksandr Atroshchanaku told charter97.org.
