Europe! We have a big problem: the treatment of imprisoned former presidential candidate Mikalai Statkevich

Kyrie eleison! SOS - ongoing torture!

Mikalai Statkevich: “They have tried out all kind of methods [against me], except for insect powder.”/KGB threathens former presidential candidate (in exile) Ales Michalevic (Але́сь Мiхале́вiч). And Young Front activist (17 years old) brutally beaten and detained cowardly by Lukashenka and KGB! What is happening to Mikalai Dzemidzenka?

Torture testimonies.
KYRIE ELEISON - A WHOLE NATION SUFFERING.
EU and politicians! DO NOT STAND IDLY BY!

"In Mahilyou prison Nr 4 pressure on the former presidential candidate, political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich was increased.

Such a conclusion has been made by the wife of the politician Maryna Adamovich after she read the recent letters from the politician, Radio Racyja informs.

She was put on the alert by one phrase from the latest letter.

“Fault”-finding has started recently again.” He writes the word “faults” in quotes. It is probably a key phrase. He writes that he had come through it in Shklou already, so he is not impressed by that. Just a remembrance about Shklou makes me writhe. The things happening there could be characterized by the phrase I read on the web. Some of his addressees published a letter from Mikalai: “They have tried out all kind of methods [against me], except for insect powder.”

As said by Maryna Adamovich, it is very disturbing news, however predictable. “A number of events make the authorities and the administrations of the prison respond nervously. It is a promised amnesty, though Mikalai Statkevich had said explicitly that he would not be included in it. It is futile and ineffective to lay hopes on the amnesty today. It is self-deluding for both Belarusians and Europeans. Waiting starts again, pressure [on Belarus] is decreased, and demands are eased. And besides the term is nearing when according to the Penal Code, a possibility of transferring Statkevich from prison to minimum security facility should be considered, and it could be one of the reasons of the pressure,” Maryna Adamovich believes.

KGB threatens Mikhalevich again
Alyaksandr Antanovich, the head of the information and public relations department at the KGB, denied information published in former presidential candidate Ales Mikhalevich's  article “Torture Technology”.
The politician wrote in his article a former KGB officer, who received political asylum in a EU country, presented him a workbook for the Belarusian National Security Institute, BelaPAN says.
According to Mikhalevich, the book contains a section “Methods of purposeful influence on a person”. “Torturing was the last but not the least in the list of methods,” he notes.
The former presidential candidate described tortures in his article.
Alyaksandr Antanovich said the information was “absolute fiction and fantasy”. The KGB representative said it may be regarded as libel causing damage to the agency.
“In this regard libel and lies will be evaluated from a legal point of view as actions on spreading information doing damage to business reputation of the KGB,” Antanovich said.

The Young Front activist, who raised a national white-red-white flag in Minsk yesterday, was detained and brutally beaten.
Raman Pratasevich, who hung out a white-red-white flag on the building opposite the central store department in the evening of May 16, was detained by riot police and spent several hours in a police station. As “Belorusski Partizan” learned, Raman was detained by 10 riot police officers, who beat him brutally (facial injuries, a limp and twisted arms). The special operation was carried out under command of Colonel Yauseyeu.
Under law, he cannot stand trial. 17-year-old Raman cannot be brought to administrative detention, because people under 18 cannot be thrown into a detention centre.
The country learned about Raman Pratasevich, then 16-year-old student of the Lyceum of the Belarusian National Technical University, in July 2011. Raman was expelled from the lyceum for taking part in a “silent revolution”. The boy had to leave his family due to differences in ideological views.

Young Front member sent to army: In 2009 the activist was found unfit for military service because of high blood pressure. “In 2012, after a term for a performance in front of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, he was taken into a military hospital under police escort, to “confirm”, that he suddenly became fit for military service,” the report reads.
