Kristnas situation i Nordkorea osäkrare efter nya sanktioner

NORDKOREA

De nya sanktioner som FN kommit överens om kommer ytterligare att kringskära Nordkoreas möjligheter att agera och verka inom det internationella samfundet. De senaste sanktionerna kräver att Nordkorea upphör med alla former av kärnvapen- och missiltester. De innefattar åtgärder som kommer att hindra finansiella transaktioner, beslagta kontanter, ge länder rätt att inspektera misstänkt gods och utöka listan på varor som Nordkorea inte får importera. Sanktionerna lägger nya restriktioner på nordkoreanska diplomater, vilket ökar risken för att de utvisas. Men de ger inte andra länder rätt att stoppa och inspektera nordkoreansk last på internationellt vatten eller att tvinga ner flyg som misstänks transportera smuggelgods – åtgärder som kunde ha orsakat våldsamma konfrontationer.

Icke-statliga organisationer (så kallade NGO:s, Non-Governmental Organizations) kommer inte direkt att påverkas av sanktionerna. Trots det är deras arbete helt beroende av Pyongyangs svar. Nordkorea kan utvisa frivilligarbetare och NGO-medarbetare ur landet. En av fältarbetarna i ett av NGO-teamen säger: ”Situationen är oklar. Nordkorea kan förbjudas ta emot alla former av hjälp från utlandet, men eftersom vi inte har något synligt projekt ”ovan jord” så borde inte de nya sanktionerna påverka vårt arbete den närmaste framtiden. Vi arbetar i hemlighet och kommer att fortsätta att göra det.”

- Vi ber för varje internationell ledare som har direkta kontakter över gränsen, men speciellt för Kim Jong-Un och hans regering, att de handlar vist och lugnt som svar på krisen. Vi ber att gränserna inte ska stängas till ytterligare och att kommande restriktioner inte ska gälla för människor som reser in till och ut ur landet. Vi ber också om kraft och vishet för alla team och människor som arbetar inne i och längs gränsen till Nordkorea och som redan är ytterst pressade när de försöker stöda och vara till välsignelse för nordkoreanska troende.




IRAN

Vi ber för de fängslade troende som våra iranska bröder och systrar har påmint oss om. Vi ber för de troende som ställs inför rätta – första gången eller på nytt – efter månaders väntan i fängelset, att deras fall skulle läggas ner eller att de frikänns och släpps fria. Vi ber för pastor Benhams hälsa och även för andra med hälsoproblem, att de får rätt vård och att också de snart får bli fria. Vi ber också för pastor Saeed, som har dubbelt medborgarskap (Iran-USA), att hans tro på Jesus förblir stark och hans vittnesbörd klart, som han skriver i ett brev från fängelset: ”Detta är ytterligare ett gyllene tillfälle för mig att låta Kristi ljus lysa genom mig i denna mörka värld.” Slutligen ber vi för alla familjer och nära och kära till dem som sitter i fängelset, att de får känna av Jesu Kristi frid, omsorg och beskydd.

Kazakhstan: religious literature to be destroyed - Bibles likely to be burnt

"religious literature to be destroyed. A total of 121 books confiscated... The books comprise Bibles, Children's Bibles, and other books and leaflets on the Christian faith, mainly in the Kazakh language".




Human rights defender Yevgeni Zhovtis (Евгений Жовтис) of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and the Rule of Law sounded distressed, telling Forum 18 that "this is terrible, terrible". A Justice Ministry official in the capital Astana told Forum 18 that the books – which include Bibles - are likely to be burnt."

Undiplomatic EU diplomats - incompetence EU!

Words from the head of all rule and authority: "you ought to have done"

Matt. 7:12 “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." (the Golden rule). Micah 6:8

Our Lord, Christ Jesus also was a (political) refugee, he was a simple poor man, an ordinary worker (a carpenter) and God (in the same time). Matt. 7:12 says:" So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." and his message urge us to fight for justice, freedom and human rights! The Church (any Church!) shouldn't remain silent "in such a time as this." (Esther 4:14a). 




And we should help the poor people. Do not deny the Law, as Jesus said. He used this words: "For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others." Matt. 23:23b

And he started with these harsh words: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!" Matt. 23a

Matt.11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Jesus) This, is the message to the poor.

Islamister fortsätter sitt blodiga härjningtåg mot minoriteter i Bangladesh

BANGLADESH


"Aktivister från den islamistiska organisationen Jamaat Shibir fortsätter sin landsomfattande våldskampanj och har stött samman med myndigheterna, vilket ledde till fem döda och minst 150 skadade, inklusive 10 poliser. Hittills har sammanlagt 48 personer mist livet under bara några dagar och tusentals har skadats. Det huvudsakliga målet för attackerna är olika minoriteter, speciellt hinduerna, och polismyndigheterna. Över tusen hinduistiska familjer har drabbats när Jamaat Shibir har attackerat byar och hinduistiska helgedomar. Gruppen har också bränt bilar och tåg, och förstört järnväg på olika håll i landet. På vissa orter har kyrkor attackerats med stenar och det har också kommit rapporter om attacker mot ett kristet missionscenter i Jaipurhat och även andra incidenter där Jamaat Shibir har vandaliserat kristna kyrkor, vandrarhem, hus och annan egendom.

Under den senaste veckan blev två av arbetarna från vår samarbetspartners organisation stoppade av aktivister från Jamaat Shibir när de åkte på ett fältbesök. Aktivisterna ville att arbetarna skulle sluta arbeta för en kristen organisation och i stället komma med dem nu när de startat ”kriget för att bevara islam”. Alla fältarbetare har nu uppmanats till speciell försiktighet under besök ute på fältet.

Jamaats propagandamaskin använde ett manipulerat foto av en av deras ledare (som nyligen dömdes för krigsbrott) för att uppvigla människorna till en andra våg av terror. Fastän all propaganda bestod av lögner, öppet och skandalöst, fungerade det. Man använder moskéer för att inspirera vanliga muslimer att slåss mot regeringen och attackera icke-muslimer för att skydda sin egen religion – eftersom några av ledarna nu dömts för brott under självständighetskriget 1971. Ytterligare några andra sitter i fängelse och rättsprocesser pågår. Man ordnade en 48-timmars strejk över hela landet för att få igenom kraven på att ledarna ska släppas fria.

Vår samarbetspartner i Bangladesh säger: ”Den nuvarande situationen är inte särskilt bra och vi väntar oss fler attacker mot våra kyrkor och mot kristna organisationer. Kan ni sprida denna information på olika sätt så att världen får höra om dagsläget och kräva att vår regering vidtar omedelbara åtgärder för att skydda minoritetsfolkens liv och egendom! Vi behöver stödet från er, våra samarbetsparter, och också ert bönestöd.”

Regeringens underrättelseavdelning har varnat vår partnerorganisation och uppmanat dem vidta extra försiktighetsåtgärder och be om hjälp av lokala polisen för sin säkerhet om det är nödvändigt. Man har informerat alla församlingar och kyrkor, särskilt i missionsområden, och uppmanat dem vara uppmärksamma.

Vi ber att våldet upphör och myndigheterna står fasta mot denna grupp som sprider förstörelse och skräck omkring sig. Vi ber också att Gud ger församlingarna och de troende vishet och mod att stå upp för Kristi sanning, frihet och kärlek.




PAKISTAN

Vi tackar Gud för domstolsbeslutet som lägger ner hädelseåtalet mot en kristen man som anklagats för att ha skymfat islam. Detta remarkabla beslut överraskade både den anklagade Barkat Masih (56) och hans jurist och religionsfrihetsadvokater. Masih sade: ”Jag trodde inte att Gud skulle rädda mig från en så omöjlig situation, men denna mirakulösa räddning har stärkt min tro på Honom.” Vi tackar Gud för Masih, som konverterat från hinduismen, och ber att Gud beskyddar honom och hans familj som trots allt måste flytta till annan ort då Masihs liv är hotat i hemstaden. Vi ber också för den modiga domaren som dessvärre nu har tvingats lämna domararbetet på obestämd tid.

KAMERUN

Vi ber för familjer och vänner till de två kristna konvertiterna Abdoulaye och Abakachi som den 19 februari sköts till döds medan ytterligare en skadades allvarligt när en grupp islamister öppnade eld mot dem då de var på hemväg från en kristen konferens. De hade tidigare hotats till livet. Vi ber om Guds tröst, omsorg och beskydd för Abdoulayes hustru och 13 barn, liksom för Abakachis hustru och fyra barn.

"Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human rights and rule of law is defending freedom of expression and thought, conscience and belief. Belivers are less likely to commit crimes and more loyal to the state than others, says the leader Евгений Жовтис. The regime has a suspicious attitude towards religion because earlier in the Soviet union atheism was the main "religion". The state still think it must be in control of everything, even religion. The authorities believe that registration is the most important tool of ideological control. The authorities (the regime, the dictator) in Kazakhstan is apparently afraid of the "orange revolution" and the "Arab Spring", of the civil society and non-governmental organizations (NGO's). Nevertheless Kazakstan has signed documents regarding freedom of assembly (OSCE). Moreover, a court in Astana placed the Muslim Brotherhood on the list of extremist organizations. Evgeni ( Евгений Жовтис) is wondering how it could be possible that the Kazakh government cooperates with Mohamed Morsi, and has formal diplomatic relations with the extremists? So it is a very arbitrary and inconsistent governance in Kazakhstan.

Religious education must be allowed in schools so that the children can take part in different views and religions. We must give them information and let them have their own opinion and teach them how to interpret this in a good way. Sex education that was banned in the Soviet union is necessary and the solution is not to forbid it. The schools in Kazakhstan are not teaching critical thinking and debate skills, instead the teacher's word is law. Public debate is always better than to turn of the lid or to control media. These are shortsighted methods that makes room for underground activity."



Lawyer and human rights defender Vadim Kuramshin - imprisoned for 12 years:

"Vadim Kuramshin, the much-persecuted human rights lawyer, has had his appeal against a 12 year prison sentence rejected. Vadim’s ‘crime’ is to be a lawyer defending  the rights of workers and prisoners and attempting to expose bribery and corruption by the authorities. The court that upheld the 12 year sentence behaved in a way totally reminiscent of the old Stalinist courts.
This is a complete travesty of justice. Vadim was held and tried over a seven month period last year. In August, despite being put under huge pressure by the police and the regime, the jury found Vadim innocent of all but one minor crime, for which he was given a one year conditional sentence and released. He was then arrested again in December after the prosecutor appealed against the sentence. The new sentence of 12 years was handed down in one day, and has now been confirmed by the appeal judge."

Today on March 4, 2013 Vadim Kuramshin was transferred (from the detention center in Petropavlovsk) to the detention center in the North of Kazakhstan; the Taraz colony of special regime EC 164/4 in Gorny (Jaman-hill).
He was convicted on false charges for 12 years in the special regime colony with confiscation of property.

During the recent years Vadim informed the society and the international community about the lawlessness in Russian prisons, particularly in the north of Kazakhstan and Karlag areas and in the northern colonies. Vadim Kuramshin managed to turn public opinion, drawing attention to a running problem of torture and ill-treatment of prisoners by informing domestic and international media. Now the regime wants to get rid of him sending him to the same prison colonies that he has criticized.

Ett livstecken! Men vilket liv?! Besökare har kunnat bekräfta att Vadim efter omständigheterna är "ok". Han har tydligen inte blivit misshandlad i Petropavlovsk. Han uttryckte sin tacksamhet över alla som stöder honom och håller ett öga på hans situation. Han bad sin mor att vara stark. Det är okänt hur länge han ska stanna i Petropavlovsk. Det återstår att hoppas och tro att hans tid senare i koloni ЕС 164/4 п. Горный (Gorny) inte ska innebära tortyr eller sexuella övergrepp, allt det som han själv har fördömt. Det här är goda nyheter så här långt (tack Gud!) MEN det gäller att uthålligt följa med situationen och hoppas att detta bara inte var någon form av tillfällig uppvisning. Det verkar vara trångt i cellen och om någon verkar glad i ett Kazakiskt fängelse kan man vara säker på att det är någonting skumt på gång....

What a life!! Visitors were able to confirm that Vadim is "ok", at least for now. He has apparently not been beaten in Petropavlovsk. He expressed his gratitude for all those who support him and keep an eye on his situation. He encouraged his mother to be strong. It is unknown how long he will stay in Petropavlovsk. Let's hope and believe that his time later in the colony ЕС 164/4 п. Горный (Gorny) should not involve torture or sexual abuse, that he has condemned. This is good news so far (thank God!) BUT it is very important to follow the situation and hope that this just was not some kind of temporary exhibition. (It seems to be quite crowded in his cell)

It is necessary to follow what is happening; if someone looks "happy" in a prison in Kazakhstan there is something going on...

I know that his friends are very worried about his transferring to EC 164/4.
