Dopet frälser och föder oss på nytt - ett gudomligt, saligt, fruktbart och nåderikt vatten

Titus 3:5 "Men när Guds, vår Frälsares, godhet och kärlek till människorna uppenbarades, frälste han oss, inte för rättfärdiga gärningar som vi hade gjort, utan på grund av sin barmhärtighet, genom ett bad till ny födelse och förnyelse i den helige Ande,"

"Fatta saken helt enfaldigt så, att dopets kraft, uppgift, gagn, frukt och ändamål är att saliggöra. Ty man döper ingen därför, att han skall bli en furste, utan, som orden lyder, för att han skall bli salig. Men att bli salig betyder, som vi vet, ingenting annat än att, förlossad från synder, död, och djävul, komma till Kristi rike och evigt leva med honom.

Här ser du återigen hur dyrt och högt dopet bör värderas, då vi därigenom vinner en sådan outsäglig skatt. Detta borde väl också visa, att det inte kan rätt och slätt vara fråga om endast vatten, ty endast vatten kunde inte verka sådant. Men ordet och det att Guds namn nämns där, har denna verkan. Men där Guds namn är, där måste också liv och salighet vara, så att det med rätta måste kallas ett gudomligt, saligt, fruktbart och nåderikt vatten. Ty genom ordet får dopet kraft att bli ett bad till ny födelse."

Frånvaron av tro gör inte dopet ogiltigt:

52] Därefter säga vi vidare, att för oss den största vikten icke ligger därpå, huruvida den som blir döpt tror eller icke tror; ty trons frånvaro gör icke dopet orätt, utan allt beror av Guds ord och befallning. 53] Detta är nu visserligen något svårt att fatta, men grundar sig helt och hållet på det som jag har sagt, att dopet ingenting annat är än vatten och Guds ord jämte och med varandra. D.v.s. så snart ordet är förbundet med vattnet, så är dopet ett rätt dop, även om tron icke kommer därtill. Ty min tro verkar icke dopet, utan den mottager dopet. In sometimes graphic detail, it confirms the material we have carried previously on this site, especially that of Vadim Kuramshin, a human rights lawyer who has spoken out courageously against such atrocities. Like lawyers mentioned in this broadcast, Vadim himself has been put behind bars. At present he languishes in a penal colony, sentenced to twelve years on trumped up charges, even after the case against him was dismissed unanimously by a jury.

- Vadim Kuramshin made protests against torture and abuse. He cried on a dinner when someone asked him about torture and he went home...He was taken by the security police right from his home. PM Netanyahu's speech at the UN General Assembly: "Today our hope for the future is challenged by a nuclear-armed Iran that seeks our destruction. But I want you to know, that wasn't always the case. Some 2,500 years ago the great Persian king Cyrus ended the Babylonian exile of the Jewish people. He issued a famous edict in which he proclaimed the right of the Jews to return to the land of Israel and rebuild the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. That's a Persian decree. And thus began an historic friendship between the Jews and the Persians that lasted until modern times. But in 1979 a radical regime in Tehran tried to stamp out that friendship. As it was busy crushing the Iranian people's hope for democracy, it always led wild chants of "death of the Jews."

Sudanesisk biskop: "Kristna lever i ständig rädsla"


SUDAN

"Atmosfären i Sudan blir allt mer spänd, när president Hassan Omar al-Bashir och hans regering har gjort det klart för alla att landet nu är muslimskt och att där inte finns plats för kristna. För en dryg vecka sedan skrev Andudu Adam Elnail, en sudanesisk biskop, till USA:s president Obama för att uppmana honom att handla för att rädda livet på de som fortfarande finns kvar i Nubabergen, Blå Nilen och i Darfur. Han efterlyste kraftiga åtgärder och påminde världsledarna att inte glömma bort det krig som rasar inom Sudan.

Han skrev: ”Vårt folk upplever att världen har glömt dem. Vi undrar varför ni inte har gjort något för att få slut på vårt folks lidande eller för människorna i Darfur som fortfarande lider och vars situation blir bara värre. Vi blir fortfarande dagligen bombade från flygplan. Bomberna landar på bondgårdar, skolor, kyrkor och moskéer, kliniker och marknader. Oskyldiga civila, kvinnor och barn, dödas medan de försöker fortsätta leva sitt vardagliga liv. De som överlever, lever i ständig rädsla.”

I en annan kraftfull uppmaning till handling har 20 internationella människorättsorganisationer tillsammans skrivit till FN:s kommission för mänskliga rättigheter och pekat på allvarliga människorättsbrott i Sudan under det senaste året och vädjat om åtgärder. Brevet konstaterade att människorättsbrotten även innefattar brott mot religionsfriheten där kristna varit målet för attackerna.
Deras brev strävar efter att lyfta upp fall som liknar Moses, som växte upp i en muslimsk familj men blev allvarligt förföljd av dem när han valde att bli kristen. På grund av Moses tro, lämnade hans hustru honom, hans hus brändes ned och han tvingades bort från samhället. Slutligen fann Moses gemenskap i en sudanesisk kyrka på en annan ort. Han tänker orubbligt hålla fast vid sin tro trots vad det kostar honom."

IRAN


"Vi tackar Gud för att den fängslade pastorn Saeed Abedinis hustru, Naghmeh, fick tillfälle att överräcka ett brev med vädjan om frihet för hennes make till Irans nya president. Detta skedde medan Naghmeh deltog i en intervju i en hotellobby i New York. Medan hon talade med reportern, kom den iranska delegationen, med president Hasan Rouhani, gående genom lobbyn. Naghmeh gick fram till delegationen och introducerade respektfullt sig själv för Rouhani och bad honom på farsi att befria hennes make som sitter fängslad i Evin fängelset på grund av sin tro. Hon berättade för delegationen att hon vill överräcka ett brev som pastor Saeed hade skrivit till presidenten med en vädjan om frigivning. Medan hissdörren stängdes tog en medlem av Rouhanis medarbetare emot brevet och sa att han överräcker det till Rouhani. Vi ber att denna händelse ska få leda till frigivningen av pastor Saeed Abedini (se Veckorapport 10, 2013). Må Gud med sin närvaro styrka och honom och hålla honom vid gott mod."
