“His arrest marks a major escalation in the crackdown against those who oppose the forced demolition of crosses,”
"The official punishment of pastor Gu Yuese in Zhejiang is absolutely a politically motivated charge. The latest confirmed news is that Gu is charged for "embezzling funding of 10 million yuan ($1.6 million)". Yesterday the Zhejiang authorities has ordered all of Gu's ministerial leadership including his wife pastor Zhou Meilian at Cjongyi church to leave Chongyi church and assigned them to different local congregations to minister. A CCP approved leader took control and preached on Sunday. Plus all of the church buildings were ordered to install a Chinese national flag on the top. --- I think to charge him with serious criminal accusations with adopting the same tactic of Article 73 criminal procedural law ("residential surveillance in a designated location" like a black jail) like many human rights lawyers were treated since July 9 last year, it will make sure Rev Gu and his supporters has no way to defend himself and will be thoroughly isolated and interrogated without any due course until he is indicted."
