EU! Urgent action needed to save Siarhei Kavalenka; prominent Belarusian opposition leader - more pressure on Lukashenka

Pray: Ps. 46. Dedicated to my sister in Christ; Alena Kavalenka and the two children in the family. A cry for help/See update 3.5 pictures: family's brave mini-demonstration/Extreme awful police brutality - Kyrie eleison! Matt. 25:31-46!
* Vitebsk shows support for Siarhei. Dangerous: "He is being persuaded to apply for a pardon, but he refuses to do so" (fighting spirit). Siarhei has presidential qualities and Lukashenka is scared to death for Siarheis spiritual strenght - otherwise he would release him...Lukashenka's ego can not stand free elections - but it is soon over for you, Lukashenka...you see, International Criminal Court (ICC) in Hague is waiting for you...

Injustice and terror in Belarus (A warning: "Do not stand idly by"/Lev. 19:16, Chief Rabbi Lord J. Sachs)

About Siarhei Kavalenka, prominent Belarusian opposition leader, who was on hunger strike: "he was abused and constantly humiliated by another prisoner and nearly strangled. He is  constantly facing provocations. On Vitba 3 he was constantly bullied. "He was not allowed to start normal recovering after fasting,” Alena Kavalenka says.

There was an attempt to kill political prisoner Syarhei Kavalenka during his hunger strike. “Strong well-built men were placed in a cell with him. One of them weighting about 130 kg began to sneer at hunger strike and humiliate Syarhei. Syarhei punched him in his place and he began to strangle  Syarhei, who weighted a bit more than 50 kg. Police were called. Syarhei is constantly facing provocations,” Alena Kavalenka said.

“He has been moved to detention facility No. 1. I't unknown where he will be sent further. The regional courts says they do not take such decisions. I can only guess he will be transferred somewhere near Vitebsk. They do not have the right to send him to a penal colony, because the verdict has not taken force. He may be sent to the detention facility in Vitebsk,” Alena Kavalenka said.  --- "He was not allowed to start normal recovering after fasting,” Alena Kavalenka says.

"According to John McCain, reducing the pressure on Lukashenka will not help free the political prisoners. On the contrary, the Senator said that the pressure should be increased". --- Journalist Natalia Radzina: “Today Lukashenka is trying to win time. If the political prisoners are not released in the near future, more sanctions should be introduced. And the powers must be urged to start system changes, otherwise the number of political prisoners will continue growing, just like during Lukashenka’s entire rule. The USA should understand that the situation in Belarus, ruled by a tyrant for almost 20 years, is as grave as in Libya and Syria,” the journalist said.

Alena visited Siarhei the 30th of April and "he still remain in critical condition". He tells about the conditions: he was abused and constantly humiliated by another prisoner and nearly strangled. On Vitba 3 he was constantly bullied: "They want to destroy me morally and physcially. His wife thinks that only his strong will keeps him alive. Siarhei expressed the importance of support from street actions and independent media in order to show the Belarusian people and the world the fact that there are dozens of political prisoners in jail in Belaurs. "The hunger strike of a single person in itself will not change without outside help, the system will crush him", said Siarhei.

Update 3.5.2012/Alena K.: http://kurier.me/ru/page/politics/771

The family (the son 7 years and daughter 10 months) of Sergei Kovalenko organized a small demonstration in the center of Vitebsk (Photo). Alena held a poster with the text: "Children need a father". The poster showed photographs of Sergei Kovalenko with children, and on the contrary - children without a father. Under the picture the inscription was: "Son, 7 years old needs his parents education! Daughter of 10 months need the love of both parents." At this time there was a lot of people, but no policemen. People watched with interest and some of them came to talk to Alena. The mini-demonstration lasted for about 20 minutes.

Kalinkovichi första maj. Inför många ögonvittnen trycker en polis ner en ung mans ansikte mot marken när han redan ligger i en blodpöl med skadad nacke och förstört ansikte.

Калинковичи 1 мая; Police is brutally pushing a teenager with a fracture on the neck and his face destoryed, to the ground. People are crying for ambulance.

According to Alena Kavalenka, her husband is being persuaded to apply for a pardon:
“It's unacceptable. How can he apply for a pardon if he was thrown into jail for nothing?” --- “He will be transferred to detention facility No. 2 in Vitebsk, where he had a hard time during his hunger strike. He began his fast there and he will return there.”

Sergei Kovalenko refused to write a petition for a pardon...
