Stor oro för de kristna i Mellanöstern; Egypten, Syrien, Irak - Israel enda trygga landet? Deep concern for Christians in the Middle East

Jesus says: "raise your heads" - to us and to persecuted and suffering Christians in all times and everywhere. Pray for "peace, love, light and life". Give peace a chance (video).

Deep concern for Christians in the Middle East; Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran - has Israel become the only safe haven for Christians in the Middle East? And we should never forget about the Holocaust (Shoah) and Seyfo. We cannot "stand idly by..." (Chief Rabbi J. Sachs: 'Do not stand idly by the blood of your neighbor" Lev. 19:16). I Egypten kan ett illasinnat rykte vara nog för att "sätta dit" kristna. Kristna är skyddslösa! Deras smärta måste vara vår smärta. Tex. Egyptens urgamla kyrka är grundad av evangelisten Markus. Ordet kopt betyder "egyptos". Kopterna är Egyptens ursprungsbefolkning. Mellan 10 och 20 % är kristna (95 % kopter). De kristnas situation i Egypten är extremt svår efter Mubarakregimens fall och den sk. "arabiska våren" som för de kristnas del är isande kall. Kyrie eleison!



Arutz Sheva (April 4, 2012) writes: “As 800,000 Jews were once expelled from Arab countries, so are Christians being forced from lands they've inhabited for centuries”, Ambassador Oren stated, comparing the expulsion of Jews after the establishment of the state of Israel with the Arab countries’ current treatment of their Christian minorities. The numbers are telling. Today there is only one Middle Eastern country where the number of Christians has grown: Israel. As documented in the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, the Christian community that numbered 34,000 people in 1949 is now 163,000-strong, and will reach 187,000 in 2020. --- Ramallah was 90% Christian before the 1948 War of Independence and Bethlehem was 80% Christian. Today Ramallah is a large Islamic city and Bethlehem’s Christians are near extinction."

Jag och många med mig är oroliga över Iraks ursprungsbefolkning som drivits bort från sitt land och delvis är hänvisade endast till Nineveslätten i dag. De kristna i Irak tillhör ursprungsbefolkningen. Oron gäller som sagt även de kristna i Egypten, kopterna - även om vi som kristna får vara trygga när det mörknar och drar ihop sig: Gud har ännu makten i sin hand! Det är också  mycket viktigt att fortsätta att stöda Guds egendomsfolk; judarna och deras lagliga rätt till Jerusalem och till sitt land (se videon). Dessutom är Israel den enda stabila och demokratiska ekonomin i hela Mellanöstern, med en ekonomi som pga stor företagaranda och många nya innovationer blomstrar trots att världsekonomin i övrigt är i gungning. Jerusalem förblir öppet som en mötesplats för alla olika religioner endast under israeliskt/judiskt styre.

Teol.dr Svante Lundgren har skrivit flera böcker. Den nyaste heter: Stanna eller inte stanna (Artos & Norma) och handlar om de kristna i Mellanöstern. Lundgren uttrycker en stark oro över att det i framtiden inte kommer att finnas några kristna kvar i den region där kristendomen föddes. "Deras smärta borde vara vår smärta." Lundgren nämner särskilt länder som Turkiet, Irak, Libanon och Israel/Palestina. I boken intervjuas flera mänskor bla. också i Betlehem. En man nämner att det är svårt att leva som kristen i Betlehem och han har många gånger funderat på att emigrera "för familjens skull, men om alla kristna flyttar härifrån blir det bara muslimer kvar. Och det vill jag inte, för det här är ändå sedan gammalt en kristen stad."
