Already accepted through the work of the cross - Kristendomen är helt annorlunda: Guds nåd

Other religions say: “You obey, then you are accepted.” Christianity says, “You are accepted, therefore you can obey.” Our acts of worship are a response to God’s mercy, not to get God’s mercy. So rejoice today, and realize that you are already accepted through the work of the cross. Now you can live a life that is holy and pleasing to God."

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship." (Rom. 12:1)

Kristendomen är annorlunda än andra religioner. Andra religioner säger: lyd så blir du accepterad (godkänd). Kristendomen säger: Du är accepterad, därför kan du lyda. Vår förmåga att dyrka Gud är ett svar på Guds barmhärtighet, inte för att få hans nåd. Gläd dig i dag och inse att du redan är accepterad genom Jesu Kristi försoningsverk på korset. Då förmår du leva ett heligt liv som behagar Gud.

"Så förmanar jag nu er, bröder, vid Guds barmhärtighet, att frambära era kroppar som ett levande och heligt offer som behagar Gud - er andliga gudstjänst." (Rom. 12:1)


1 Peter 2:5 (a parallel to Rom.12:1) "Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ."
